  • Buckalew Frizzell & Crevina LLP is pleased to welcome Julie Colin Lehmann as Of Counsel to the firm. Ms. Lehmann formerly was a partner with the law firm of Hill Wallack in Princeton, NJ. Ms. Lehmann is a 1984 Cum Laude graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was the managing editor of the Seton Hall Law Review. She is an experienced litigation attorney, having tried more than 50 cases and successfully argued numerous appeals. Her main areas of practice are commercial litigation, employment law, premises liability law, construction defect litigation, and arbitration/mediation.

  • David G. Frizzell was a featured speaker at the Annual Conference and Exposition of the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, held on October 27, 2007 at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison, New Jersey. Mr. Frizzell spoke on Alternative Dispute Resolution.

  • Buckalew Frizzell & Crevina LLP is pleased to welcome Barbara A. Karpowicz as an associate attorney. Ms. Karpowicz graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1999 and from Montclair State University, Magna Cum Laude, in 1996. Her main areas of practice are condominium and cooperative collections, foreclosures, and litigation.

  • On October 27, 2007, associate Mary Wynn Seiter was a panelist at the YWCA of Bergen County Girls Coalition's "Power & Possibilities" event, featuring speakers ABC News Anchor Diana Williams and television host Emme, held at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey.

Frizzell was quoted in an article in the February 4, 2007 edition of The Record newspaper.  The article, entitled "Disabled residents have law on their side" discusses requests by disabled residents of condominiums and cooperatives for reasonable accomodations of their disabilities by the associations.   Mr. Frizzell is quoted regarding the impact of federal and state law on this issue.

The article, entitled "Condo, co-op: Same lifestyle, but rules vary" discusses various differences between condominiums and cooperatives. Mr. Frizzell is quoted regarding some of the questions a prospective purchaser should ask before buying a condominium or cooperative unit.

Frizzell was quoted in an article in the December 17, 2006 edition of The Record newspaper.  The article, entitled "When a neighbor has a hoarder disorder,"  discusses how to deal with a resident of a condominium, cooperative, or apartment building, who suffers from compulsive hoarding.

  • Buckalew Frizzell & Crevina was an exhibitor at the 2006 Annual Conference and Exposition of the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute held on November 4th at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, NJ.

  • Community Trends, the monthly magazine of the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, published an article written by Mary Wynn Seiter entitled “Spoliation Concerns in Transition – Important Steps to Preserve Evidence of Construction Defects,”. Mary Wynn has been an associate with the law firm since April 2003. She is extensively involved in all aspects of representing community associations in transition from developer control, including negotiating the resolution of construction defect claims against developers.

  • David G. Frizzell and Donna Ruberman Shahrabani have become partners in the law firm of Buckalew Frizzell & Crevina. Mr. Frizzell joined the firm in 1994, after having served as a chief negotiator with the State of Connecticut’s Executive Branch. He is an honors graduate of the University of Connecticut Law School. Ms. Shahrabani, a 1988 graduate of Boston University School of Law, has practiced in New York with the law firm of Winston & Strawn, as well as with a boutique firm specializing in condominium and cooperative law. She has been with Buckalew Frizzell & Crevina since 2001.
