Ponnie Maddux joined BFC in 2026. Her practice is focused on community association law and real estate law, representing clients in both general counsel and litigation capacities. Ponnie brings a distinctive multi-disciplinary perspective to her practice, drawing on experience in corporate transactional work, contract drafting and negotiation, and complex litigation to provide practical, risk-aware counsel across a range of legal matters. She believes the most effective legal representation is built on strong client relationships and a clear understanding of each client’s unique objectives and needs.

Prior to joining BFC, Ponnie represented a diverse range of corporate and individual clients in transactional and litigation matters and served as Senior Counsel in the Special Litigation Unit of the New York City Law Department.

Ponnie received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University, Douglass College, and earned her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark, where she served as Managing Business Editor of the Computer & Technology Law Journal. Ponnie serves as a CLE faculty instructor for the New York City Bar Association, delivering curriculum on contract drafting fundamentals.
